Chrysalis is the fourth form created in a series of site specific environmental installations. The pure form combined with the both ash and tulip poplar bark texture results in an arresting discovery. Curiously, the sculpture exudes wonder and whimsy. Underlying is an invitation for the viewer to consider the impact of human manipulation of the environment. Created and installed in Kentucky at The Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest’s L + A + N + D. The new initiative features innovative designs of immersive outdoor installations on a grand scale. With the aim to connect people to nature, and in turn, a deeper appreciation of the natural world, installations address beauty in landscape, biodiversity, conservation, sustainability, and climate change.
