Hold Me

Hold Me

2012

Hold Me falls into a series of works where human substitutes are brought into question. This work takes the intended use of the punching bag and instead invites an opposing gesture — a hug. Layered within the work is the concept of using this object as a training device to practice loving gestures rather than defensive or offensive interaction. The work attempts to challenge the accepted substitute and invites people to consider the actions in relation to a real human being.
